Dr. Sameet Koppikar, DDS

Dr. Sameet Koppikar, DDS, or “Dr. Sam”, as his patients call him 😀, has been practicing dentistry in Phoenix for over 20 years. He is known for his caring touch and humorous tone, making even the most nervous patients comfortable. Dr. Sam helps his patients in all areas of dentistry, from prevention and emergencies to crowns, root canals, and implants. He graduated from the prestigious Marquette University School of Dentistry in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and completed his residency at the Veterans Administration in Cleveland, Ohio. He moved to Phoenix, Arizona for the weather and lifestyle. He has hiked the Grand Canyon 5 times… and rafted it TWICE! Dr. Sam is constantly learning and uses the most modern techniques and technologies. He listens to dental podcasts while working out at the gym in the morning!

Ashley - Born to Smile, Trained to Shine ✨

Known simply as Ashley to our patients (because there’s no nickname that could do her justice!), she’s been immersed in the world of dentistry for as long as she can remember. She often jokes that she was born to be in dentistry. Growing up, her mom worked in a dental office, and after school, Ashley would tag along—usually bored, until her mom gave her little tasks to keep her busy. That early hands-on exposure sparked a lifelong love for the dental field.

Outside the office, Ashley beams when she talks about her daughter, especially when she’s playing piano and guitar—her two favorite sounds in the world. Dedicated to excellence, Ashley and the entire Phoenix Smile team regularly attend continuing education courses together thanks to Dr. Koppikar’s commitment to staying current with the most modern techniques and technologies.

If you ask patients what they love most about Ashley, you’ll hear words like welcoming, knowledgeable, and genuinely kind . She’s one of the many reasons our office feels like family.

Darlene - Our Dental “ Dinanosaur ” 🦖

Patient Coordinator/Assistant

Patients know her as Darlene, but to her family, she proudly answers to Mom and Grandma. With over 30 years in dentistry, Darlene jokingly refers to herself as a “dental dinanosaur”—and honestly, we wouldn’t have it any other way. Her experience, wisdom, and heart make her an anchor of our team.

A true Arizona native, Darlene grew up under the desert sun and still finds joy in outdoor adventures, especially hiking South Mountain. But her favorite role of all? Being a grandma. Her stories are as full of joy and laughter as her chairside care.

Thanks to Dr. Koppikar’s commitment to excellence, Darlene and the team regularly attend continuing education courses to keep up with the latest dental techniques and technologies. Even with decades of experience, she’s always learning, always smiling, and always making patients feel right at home.

Diana – Surgical Savvy with a Side of Sass 🦴🐾

Patients know her as “D”, her approachable personality and sharp clinical skills leave a lasting impression.

With the past 3 years spent working in specialty practices—including periodontics and oral surgery—Diana brings a wealth of knowledge that has been a huge asset to our team. Her background is especially valuable here at Phoenix Smile, where Dr. Koppikar performs a high volume of implant procedures. She’s calm, confident, and always on top of the latest techniques.

Outside of work, Diana is a proud mom to her son Aiden… and to her first baby, a lovable pug named Kevin. She lights up when talking about her “two boys” and would love to show you pictures.
